Dalton E. Youngbear
December 2, 1992 - December 6, 2013

In December of 2013 Dalton Youngbear passed away in an automobile accident in his hometown of Tama, IA at the age of 21 years old.

With a group of Dalton’s closest friends and family members we put together an annual basketball tournament in the city of Denver during the summer to acknowledge his love for the game of basketball. Basketball has always been a huge impact within the Native American communities and continues today. This year we will be conducting both men and women divisions which will in turn contribute to making the weekend a family oriented event.

Dalton continuously worked hard with ambition in everything he did, basketball being one of them. He gave to those less fortunate without asking for anything in return and wanted to help change lives for the better. Because of this, our committee is dedicated to not only bringing his Native community together, but also other cultures and communities together as well. This annual basketball tournament will be in memory of Dalton, which will reflect the same love he gave towards the sport and his community.
